Whitney Houston Wiki

Run to You is a 1993 song for The Bodyguard Soundtrack Album. It was written by Jud Friedman and Allah Rich. The song was first intended to be a break-up song. Prior to the approval of the song by producer Mick Jackson and Clive Davis, Jackson called and wanted to utilize the song earlier in the movie when Whitney (Rachel Marron) and Kevin (Frank Farmer) instead of when they're breaking up. So he requested that the lyricists revamp the words to make it a love song rather than a break-up song. Rich and Friedman penned completely new lyrics, keeping just the title from the first version of the song.

Music Video[]

The music video featured Whitney running on clouds; portraying her to an angel. The music video also included scenes from the movie.

The song became a average hit reaching #31 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States and spent 6 weeks inside the top 40. The single sales slowed down at number 41 on the Hot 100 Singles Sales chart, most likely because of it's parent album.
