I Wanna Dance With Somebody is a single from Whitney Houston's second album "Whitney". The song was written by George Merril and Shannon Rubicam. It was said that the song was sent to Clive Davis and he had her record the song. Producer of the song Narada Micheal Walden, did not like the arrangements of the song at first because it didn't sound like a pop song, so he quickened the percussion to make add a more dance-able theme to the song.
